Opening of the first shoe factory outlet was opened in Nijmegen.
That same year Nimco opened its first shoe store.
1973
Nimco restarted to manufacture children’s shoes.
This was made in 2 factories, altogether with therapeutic and specialty shoes.
These are now Nimco’s core business products.
1990's
Nimco developed and patented a stretchleather technology; this was a major breakthrough in shoe business, especially since it was very much adequate for diabetics. Between 1990 and 2000 an expansion period occurred which characterized the company’s modern era: - Sales expansion for Benelux, European countries and countries in other continents: USA, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, China, UK, etc. - Creation of Nimco Orthopaedics – which is the orthopaedics division - Opening of the retail chain Nimco House of Shoes - Creation of R&D Nimcolab - And, in 1999 Fits All that started its activity by producing purely orthopaedic shoes and afterwards started to produce Personal Pairs.
2000's
This period was important because Nimco experienced further world expansion being now present in all continents. In this decade major technological advances were made specially those related to the factory unit Fits All. In these last years new, better and faster solutions are being offered due to technology: foot scanner, CNC lasts that can be sent electronically, 2D modulation and 3D modulation and several others.
2007
- Fits All moves its unit to an well known industrial area, the growth of the company in sales, products and internal structure demanded this evolution.
- In 2007 – an important event took place. Personal Pair was created; this is a line of personalized, fitted and designed shoes for adults and children. These two collections are a breakthrough in the shoe market because they start the era of total personalization and involvement of the person in creation of their especially custom made shoe. – Started the Whole Sales Portugal in the Oporto Front Office, Forma Formosa Store
2010
Nimco Orthopaedics and Fits All have merged in one great company that
manufactures and commercializes shoes and orthopaedic solutions for special feet
Nimco Made4You.
2011
This is the year when a joint Venture with India will start Nimco Made4You is a solid organization which holds the required knowledge and experience to make the best shoes. The shoes of Nimco are therefore known worldwide. As we usually say, we want to offer “Great shoes for everyone”, because everyone deserves great shoes.
